1 Introduction

Many moons ago I had to face facts  – I am a complete cooking addict… Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE eating too, but nothing brings me more pleasure than planning a menu, drawing up cooking project plans for events and holidays, shopping for ingredients in a million and one places, and then finally putting together an ensemble of a meal for 4, 20 or 400 people to enjoy…
I have always loved to cook, and I believe I do it well. I care about it and know details about food that makes people wonder if all I do is research details no one ever thinks about… The truth is I do – I am an avid recipe collector: books, magazines, blogs, neighbours, aunties, friends, you name it. I will find the recipe, cook it, modify it, rewrite it… as long as I am doing it, I'm happy… and those around me just get chubbier!
My life took a turn in 2003 when I packed up a bag and came to Israel from Sydney. I never intended on staying for long, but something held me back. There were lots of reasons why I stayed. Looooooooooots. One reason sure stood out. Food… These people LOVE to eat. Every person I meet claimed to be a 'chef'. People I met here seemed to be obsessed with cooking workshops. I must be honest, it preoccupied me for the first year I was here. All the little things I wanted to know about and could never ask anyone were answered. I gained tips and tricks I never knew existed. I discovered ingredients and secret recipes from people's mums, aunties, grandmothers and neighbors. Israelis love to ask a million questions and love to show off what they know. I took advantage of both angles…
Finding the perfect opportunity to make a career from my #1 love, I spent my time practicing and perfecting, hosting and catering personally and professionally… I discovered my calling… Besides my family whom I love with all my heart, my cooking spoons, pots, pans and knives will always be my precious life companions.
I am so grateful for having made that decision back in the early 2000s. I am grateful for the amazing catering companies I worked for who allowed me to discover and learn and develop my passion.
I believe that good food is made with passion.
I believe that good food is made from the freshest ingredients
that best complement each other.
I believe that good food is most enjoyed when it is shared… So I will share.
